Sylvain Haon
Polis, European Cities and Regions Networking for Innnovative Transport Solutions
(Brussels) – Executive Director
Sylvain Haon is the executive director of the Polis network. Polis gathers European cities and regions to support innovation for improving urban and regional mobility. Within Polis, Sylvain had previously coordinated a European project on Sustainable Urban Transport Planning and Polis working group on road safety.
Sylvain is currently leading, in relation with ERTRAC and ERRAC (the European advisory councils for research on road and rail) a joint European task force on urban mobility research.
Before joining Polis, he was head of SNCF directorate for European affairs office in Brussels and spent two years in the trade office of the French embassy in Italy.
Sylvain holds an MSc from the London School of Economics.

Technology has a leading role to play in automobile safety because it greatly contributes to improving vehicle and infrastructure reliability, helps limit the physical impact of accidents and can positively influence driver behaviour. Now that it has proved its effectiveness, it is up to all the players involved to dispel any doubts of drivers so that we can reap the full benefits of current and future innovations.
