Managing Director
Christoph Lauterwasser is Managing Director of AZT Automotive at the Allianz Center for Technology in Ismaning, Germany. From 1995 to 1998 he worked as a risk consultant, setting up an international service for underwriters in product safety and recalls. He was then appointed Head of the Department of Risk Management, Due Diligence and Sustainability in the Allianz Center for Technology, where he worked on technical due diligence reviews, new technologies and future trends, and was also the spokesperson for the Allianz Formula 1 Safety Mission. After another two years on automotive projects, including vehicle telematics Dr Lauterwasser was appointed to his present position in 2007.
Technology has a leading role to play in automobile safety because it greatly contributes to improving vehicle and infrastructure reliability, helps limit the physical impact of accidents and can positively influence driver behaviour. Now that it has proved its effectiveness, it is up to all the players involved to dispel any doubts of drivers so that we can reap the full benefits of current and future innovations.
